The brief was to provide a flexible space that could be used for entertaining, meetings and a stimulating place for employees to relax. As the board room and offices overlook the seventh floor terrace, it was vital to design a scheme that provides a dramatic and stimulating backdrop with year round impact.
Weight loading restrictions meant that a creative solution had to be found to provide screening and shelter to this exposed space. Bold lines and blocks of fibre glass rods were used to enclose the space and frame distant views. These 'Sticks' gently sway with the wind and add much needed movement. At night they are illuminated from below to stunning effect.
The style of planting follows this bold modern approach with a limited palette of architectural plants used to contrast and echo the main elements of the design.
